The association was created in response to the increasingly frequent misinformation about the ban on wood heating,
that are circulating on the Internet, but also in professional circles. The AEVD, headed by Michal Bartoska, has thus
embarks on a myth-busting journey and sees its weapons mainly in education and awareness. "We want to educate
the general public and professionals on how to use heaters properly. It can be said that 4 out of 5 owners
heaters do not heat in a so-called "carbon neutral" way.

Which way is the road?

Thanks to its members, who are mainly manufacturers and distributors of heaters, the AEVD has gained valuable contacts
with end customers. Sales representatives are already visiting 350 sales outlets in the Czech Republic
and distribute information materials to reach those interested in the heaters. Through the dealer, it is also
information can be attached to all appliances.
Another way the AEVD sees to spread its agenda is through the work of chimney sweeps and inspection technicians who
are in regular contact with the users of the heaters and can give them information personally.
Bartoška adds: "I haven't noticed anyone from the stove and chimney
companies who would say they are not interested or not concerned. Many are proactively offering us
their reach - space in the media, ways to spread ideas, their own spaces. When they are visited
sales reps with the materials, they're very appreciative. I would say they have taken it in their stride."

It's out - Log Allowed!

Along with its launch, AEVD also launched a campaign called Logs Allowed! and it seems
it's more than fulfilling its purpose. "The response has been surprising for me, I didn't expect it to be nearly as
in large numbers and so positive," Bartoška says of the campaign's success. The surprisingly quick response
came not only from the local media houses, which have been regularly contacted with questions since then, but also from
foreign countries. The AEVD is now known in all neighbouring countries and there have been discussions with the association
at European level.
"We are also currently working on some issues with the Ministry of the Environment. Meetings are taking place
on several levels, i.e. not only in terms of green heating, but also decarbonisation
economy, and we are in contact at the level of the press departments to ensure that the public is
communication is uniform," says Bartoška, adding that interest in the topic of ecological heating is
"We are in contact with the Faculty of Science of Charles University - they have the possibility
to carry out CO₂ measurements in specific locations or municipalities and want to convince us together
their inhabitants to work to reduce emissions. We could then repeat the measurements next year.

What happens next?

The AEVD is not slowing down and is preparing the next steps in its fight against disinformation. In the short term.
horizon would like to gain even more attention and support from major institutions, including at the EU
level.

The AEVD sees dealers, stove builders and chimney sweeps in particular as key players in spreading awareness.
"We primarily want to start educating these groups to be able to respond convincingly
the misinformation about the ban on wood heating that customers come up with from time to time.
We need to provide them with guidance, resources and an effective way of putting information to the right
peace," Bartoška sums up the AEVD's upcoming plans.
